In my daily travels with work I am seeing plenty of wood available curbside. I mean not like the homeowner is going to get to it later thing. I mean get it out of here.

On Country Club Road in Avon, there is a boatload, mostly oak on both sides of the road, more so East of the golf course. One house had 8-12 foot log lenghts out there at 12-16 inches.

In Plainville on Rt 177, between Northwest Dr. and Rt. 6 a lot there as well.

Pick it up boyz.

Thanks for the info. I have had a lot of luck picking up wood. My assumption at this point is that when someone has it in front of their house on the outside of the sidewalk they are hoping someone will take it away.

KC, you must be about worn out by now.

ON my parents street in Vernon CT, the entire street is lined waist high with brush, limbs and wood. I guess the town is coming around to pick it up so everyone is just dragging it to the street, its unbelievable, if it wasnt 2.5 hours away i would be in scrounging heaven.

I ran into the same thing in South Hadley, I was out there for work in my Tacoma, too far to travel back and forth but I didnt come home with an empty truck that day.

Thanks for the tip iskiatomic. I ventured out on my lunch break to 177. There were a couple of other scroungers there but I was able to load about 3/4 of a truck and get back to work within 1/2 hour.

Denny, I am shot. Taking off to Vermont in the morning. If all goes well this weekend the heaviest thing I will pick up a fork and a beer!

KC, when are you off to Colorado?

ive been cleaning up about 3 cords on my street alone. mostly all oak. and now my neighbors on both sides of me are haveing a total of 4 big oak trees coming down cuz there nervous of them now. so the tree guys i going to take them down and then use his skid steer to stack them in my yard. so im going to have a butt load of oak and wood to work on this winter. cant wait.

I scored 10 fullsize "6.5' bed" truck loads and 4 6x12 landscaping trailer loads from the collinsville area. I have been gone the last two weeks for work but get home this Sunday. I hope to get some more in the next few weeks while I have off. I have about 3 cords split and stacked so far and thats about half of the pile. All oak so far.

Been loading myself up non stop. Just driving around after work with my trailer and loading it up until dark. No question who does not want their wood these days until all the brush and wood is picked up. Pretty good pickings these days. Going to grab a cord or so of Locust down at my neighbors yard tomorrow...
