Yes. I have a 1900 sq. ft. Colonial style home w/ the typical stairs in the middle. The fireplace is in the middle of the 1st floor and it heat my entire home wonderfully. I have duct work and a fan connected to the fireplace and ran down to the basement. I'm trying to see if I can keep my daughter's bedroom warm. So far it has not been working well, but I'm far from giving up.

Yeah my basement is like a refrigerator because my stove is in the living room.. Moving warm air to the cellar is easier said than done unless you have a stove down cellar too.. This is not an option for me and it's not that important as we don't live down there..
