I have been wondering if I can set my circ pump to not come on untill a set temp on my econoburn 150. The control logic is there to do it, but I don't know if it is okay for the boiler to not have water circulating during warm up (does the sensor need circulating water?)
In a recent post it sounds like this is pretty common practice. My mix valve for boiler protection always draws a bit of water from the cold port, therefore when the fire is out and the boiler is cooling down it is sending a bit of 130deg water back to the top of my 190deg storage. By morning this kinda ruins stratification, so it would be great if its okay to shut down the pump at 160 on the 150 econoburn.
