My wife ruined a pair of welding gloves (hard as a rock) when I was gone for work, told her she was an idiot for doing that.

Two matching burns on both forearms, right above the cuff of the glove. I simply must remember there are stove tools nearby.

i have always used the lincoln electric wleding gloves, and they get me through about 3/4 burning season. Just ordered some cedars, so we'll see how my FREE gloves last.

Gloves? I've never even thought to wear gloves to run the stove. Haven't burned myself bad enough to leave a mark in 20 years of running stoves though.
The worst burn I've gotten was from the kitchen stove a few months ago, scrapped the stop of my thumb on teh top rack as I was pulling out the pan. Oven was at 500 something *s. Still have a mark from that.
