I fashioned this up in about a half hour. I didn't have a good place for the tools that came with my stove, so figured I'd make something especially for them. Now they sit right above my fireplace tool set. We won't lose them this way!

Nice, not sure what they are for, but nice. How you like the top loader? They were not out when I purchased my Oslo.

The top load is nice, but now that I have my humidifying kettle up there, I'm not sure how much I'll use it. The tool on the left is for the door handle and the one on the right is for adjusting the air control and lifting the top load door when they are too hot to be handled, so you don't have to put your gloves on. Granted, either could be done using the included gloves, but if you have the door adjusted tightly, it makes it much easier to use the handle. It was very thoughtful of Jotul to include these items.

Nice work...And a beautifully Spalted Maple to boot!

U a turner?

Actually, this was just a piece I received with my load of slab. I liked the markings, so I thought I could so something with it other than burn it. I'm not a turner, justa plain ol' burner, lol. Thanks for the compliment! I hope it inspires some others to get creative! :)

There are two spots on the back left side of the stove that hold both of those tools. But by no means do they look anywhere nice as sharp as your holder you made there!

Really... Where?? That would be AWESOME!

I will have to take a look at this when i get home tonight.

When you say left side, is it the left when you look at the stove?

I looked to, but didn't see anything on either side. Besides, it seems to me that they would get far too hot to use if they were mounted on the stove itself.

Our Rangely does not have anything on the side either.
A beef we have about the handle is that there is no way that this handle will stay attached to the door opener mechanism. It just drops off. Does anyone know if this is meant to be a safety concern or just asthetics ?

As it was described to me, the handle is designed to "fall away" both for safety and asthetics. Considering how much heat comes off the glass of my Rangeley, that handle would be smoking hot in no time, definitely a safety hazard. I like the clean look of the Rangeley with no handle, personally.

It is not designed to be mounted to the stove. It will get way too hot and would not pass the test to become a fixed handle. The location of the holders are the left rear of the stove. The fall away handle mounts on a tab that you may have to bend out slightly and the top load handle mounts in a 2 vertical hole slot right beside the fall away front handle.

Picture please.

As this is a great feature that is not documented anywhere in the manual and would help us a lot!

Look at the owners manual for the stove at www.Jotul.com. Look at page 6 (Pg 22 and 23 as well) and you will see what I believe the other poster is referring to. You're looking at the left side (facing the front of the stove) on the bottom of the heat shield.
