It's in at last. We haven't put the trim in yet. Pictures show view from the floor in front, from the couch on the right, from the kitchen on the left.

Looks really good. Will look great once you get the surround on it. How is it doing heating that space? Can you feel air moving through the convection channel? I can't imagine an insert without a blower

Looks very nice.... Put the surround on it and Pic 3 is catalog worthy.

That looks like a real nice room. Enjoy the heat.

Nice set up. I like the look and I'm sure once the surround is on, it's going to look like a built in stove that throws real heat!

Real nice install and a great cozy home,my first woodstove was a Morso in 2004 the beginning of my woodburning. My neighbor bought it off of me and burns 24/7 never had an issue.

Great looking fire, nice big view. How do you put on the surround, looks like the insert is sitting too far back into the fireplace? I thought it would have to be flush with the face of the brick?

Thanks for the comments.

Kingquad, I've had the windows open, since the break-in smell has been bad so far. I'm hoping tonight (burn 3) I can close the windows and get a sense of how the stove heats the space. But I can say that sitting near it, you really feel the heat. I am not sure what a convection channel is, but the box seems to be throwing heat forward. It takes a while for the sides to heat up.

Todd, the surround has been a big challenge for us. The standard one is a pretty large black thing covering up the rock. We decided to reduce the visual impact of the non-window part of the stove by running a custom surround to the rock, instead of in front of the rock. Alas, running a straight line to that rock is a fools errand, since it's neither plumb, level, nor consistent. It would look weird in the daylight. So we decided to set the stove back aways and put the surround behind the rock. That rock edge varies between 3.75 - 4 inches, so the stove is recessed about 3 5/8ths or so.

I'm going to get 4 pieces of heavy sheet metal, see if I can't get angle brackets attached to the back to stand them up, and buy some paint from Morso to match the stove. Not sure yet how I'm going to get the fourth piece in.

Looks fine without the surround, yeah that storage nook is really nice!

Looks good. Always liked the looks of Morsos.

Pic 3 looks like an LCD flatscreen tv!!

glad to see you went with the morso, looks nice as is, keep us posted when you finish the suround. any thoughts yet on blower vs non blower?...
