I'm think about getting a thermastat for my big girl. But is it really worth it. Opinions?? I usually let her run on 2feed and 5blow. When it's real cold, i crank her up to 5 and 8.
I usually turn her off everyday to clean her out with a shop vac. Love my Englander. Best Custmer Service!

I have the same unit and love the 120 lb. hopper, I shut her down most times daily and everyother day when I am busy for a quick cleaning.
I run the Dog Snot outta mine when needed and she puuuuurrrrrsss...I would think that adding a thermostat would just be askin for trouble with the igniter....I have had mine for 3 yrs. now and she re-starts daily with no problems BUT I am waiting for igniter failure that is sure to come ..I just dont know how they will react to starting 6,8,10 or more times per day on a thermosat....stuff wears out when used heavily.

Does the 25-PAH
have the hi/lo feature? That will keep the igniter from being over worked. You could also use a stat with an adjustable swing setting. This will reduce the amount of cycles on the igniter.

i have the same stove and been running it for a little more than a week.i have it hooked up to a thermostat as well. these stoves have both the on/off feature and hi/low. i love running it off the thermostat no need to keep the house at 70 all day while im at work. phil

Love the 3 bag hopper. This stove puts out a lot of heat. I have someone home usually everyday, so the temp in the house stays the same. I'm on my second year. This stove was my main heat for the whole house last year and saved me a lot of money since I have electric heat. Paid for itself real quick since i got the 30% tax credit and contractor discount at Lowes. Lowes is my favorite store!!!! Only thinking about thermostat to save more money by using less pellets. I'm looking for the benefits and negatives of have a Thermastat.

Thanks Guys.

i run my quad on tstat, and have for basically as long as i have had it. i have to be going on 6 years or so on the ignigter. i dont know what the ignigter is like on an englander, but mine looks like they took a burner off an old electric stove, wrapped it up tightly and stuffed it under my burn pot. and to me, basically thats all it is. i bet they can withstand thousands of cycles. try running your stove on tstat. i am convinced i burn less cycling it rather than letting it go 24/7, but thats not a hard and fast rule for every situation.
