Hello all,
I'm getting ready to install a Lopi 1750i into my ZC fireplace. Shopping for a chimney liner, I noticed Woodland Direct to be very competitive with their liner at about half the price of Chimney Liner Depot and others.

Just wonder if anyone can comment on the quality of the liner from Woodland Direct, or any other vendor for that matter. The one I'm looking at is below. Thanks all!

Woodland Direct is an outstanding etailer supplier. Most of their phone staff are NFI certified and they have a big operation (i've been to their office and Warehouse).

They dont manufacture their venting but some of it is private branded by respected companies. I would not have any issues recommending them.

Thanks,
After looking at this, I realize they are actually more expensive than Chimney Liner Depot. Might just go with them

I looked at all 3 of them a couple weeks ago when I bought my kit (8"x25' w/ deluxe terra cotta top plate and cap.) They were all within 50-60 bucks of each other but I liked the service I got from Rockford every-time I called with questions so ended up going with them. Quick call answer, patient, knowledgeable. That being said, they DID screw up my order and didn't send the deluxe TC top plate but told me to keep the standard TC top plate they sent and they would expedite one out to me. That was Tuesday, this is Friday and UPS hasn't come yet today. Don't know for sure but I'm guessing that there are only a few manufacturers of these pipes because I know Rockford doesn't make them. Kind of like catalytic combustors. Many brands, few manufacturers.

I had second thoughts about chimney liner depot. I just purchased from them and saved a little money. However, there were some issues. Where I saved money, they skimped on the material.

1. The liner was not shipped quality control. It came with a dent. I don't care how much warranty they have--they need to send them without dents. This happens one time in a hundred? I don't care. Whoever packed it, sent me a second rate piece. This is a serious problem. Whoever you go with, open the package with the shipper there and inspect the product before you accept it.

2. I called to ask questions about the spray glue that is used to attach insulation. The person on the phone started joking with me and said it was hair gel.

3. If you buy insulation, you will spend a long time putting it on. This is because they skimp on the size and it is impossible to overlap the seam, even though the manual says to. It was a struggle because they cut the insulation strip to the absolute minimum width.

4. The snout strap that attaches to the tee is not long enough to wrap around insulation. You'll spend a lot of time fishing it through the threaded clamp.

It's always a gamble finding the lowest price.

Thanks Jim, I appreciate that info. Woodpile, do you have an addess for Rockford? I tried to find them no google with no luck..

Well I ordered from Woodland Direct. I paid more for the liner kit, could have saved $50 or so with somebody else. I'm satisfied with the quality, but as far as customer service, forget it. I need to exchage the appliance connector but nobody answers the phone, nobody returns phone messages or emails. Definitely my first and last transaction with these folks...

Got mine from Fireside Chimney Supply. I have nothing but good to say. Very good customer service IMO.
