After visiting a large showroom and not finding anything like the stove I have

rectangular timberline long box no window end door ordinary, simple box

I ask you = does any company make anything like it?

I dont think I want a glass door.

i dont want to have to cut my wood short- far too much work and I am dependent upon others to choose log size so I get long and short

why anyone would need a glass door I dont know

I also dont want two doors

Many thanks experts- go for it

Conrad

Sounds like you already have the stove you want. If you want another Timberline the DC/NV/MD craigslist usually has one or more available.

I think the maximum log length for my timberline is much longer than 21 inches- I dont want to spend time doing extra log cuttng will measure it soon....
thanks

A new stove is going to run much differently than the old Timberline. Glass is really nice for running a fire and just for the mesmerizing quality of the flames.

Take a look at the Buck 261 and see if that will work for you. It has a window, but you will get used to it, I promise.

And welcome!

Hi cbladey,

I had the exact same stove and switched to a Jotul Oslo five years ago and I have never regretted it. I have some horizontal pipe issues in the house that I can't change and I used to get a five gallon pail of creotote chips and ash from my chimney twice a year. The new stove burns so clean, I get less than a coffee can of fine ash once a year. The Oslo will take the same size log and I burn about a cord less per season. I love watching the fire through the glass. The new stove requires really dry wood. All my wood is at least two years old. It took me about a week to get the hang of the new stove.

Feel free to PM me with any other questions,

Jim

We burn everything but burn it hot as it is the primary heat source for the three floor cape cod
I sweep in alternate yers this time a little over and barely half a small coffee can of fine particles
