Had my Harman Accentra pellet insert installed two weeks ago, i,m loving it as it heats house great and works as I hoped it would. One problem I would like to pass along and maybe help someone in the future. Our house is about sixty years old and the electrical outlets are not the three pronged type so I needed an adapter to plug stove into wall. After a few days I noticed blower motor was acting strange. It took me a while to figure out . The plug was not making a good ground in outlet and was affecting blower motor. Once I installed a good surge protector and achieved a proper ground everything was fine. It's been a week and a half and all is well. This forum is great and I,m glad to contribute.

Did you do the install or have it done "professionally?"

A professional did the install and he mentioned about ground when plugging in stove , It was fine when he left, but I knocked cord loose with a bag of pellets and did not notice. I panicked when problem started and I was looking for solution elsewhere. While walking near outlet I saw ground fault had red light on that said line fault. Once I secured everything the green light came back on and it's been fine since. The plug was just not the first thing I looked at.

Grounds to a metal grounded box. Sometimes used if BX cabling is present. If the box isn't grounded or is plastic, a self grounding receptacle doesn't do anything.
