I now know why everyone says to have at least 2 people when installing these things. It's has absolutely wore me out this weekend. Here's pics of the install, start to finish. The big issue I had was the clearance between the stove and the bottom flange of the offset box. I had to cut part of the flange off and roll it back. That made it next to impossible to hook the offset box up to the stove. Luckily it's wedged in there...tight. I then sealed it with stove cement form the inside, it's not perfect, but it's as good as it gonna get. Any advice for the first few fires? I might try burning tonight. And again, thanks for all the help here.

Very nice.
Good install pictures
Good job!
Gotta see a picture of the first fire :)

Hey Jc, I own a country wood stove, mine is the next size up from yours. I really like the stove, follow the three small firings that are stated in the owners manual. these firings help cure the paint. I see you are from my neck of the woods, what county are you from?

Johnson County, just outside of Paintsville. I'm itching to build a fire but it's just to dang warm outside. Its 72 in the house and the thermostat is set on 69. The thing I'm proud of the most (besides doing all the work myself) is that I managed all of this for under $1850...in peak season. Sweet.

Nice work! Just curious (I'm not expert), why the large surround? Heat shield?

That's actually the standard surround for the stove. It's about 3 and half inches taller than normal do to my firebox opening not being flush with my hearth. I had to tapcon a piece of angle iron to the hearth just in front of the firebox opening for the stove to set on. Makes it look a little higher than normal. 9:49 PM and it's still 72 degrees in the house. Looks like no fire tonight... : (

I live in harlan county. not to far away.you will love your stove they are built good and put out good heat. The weather has been so mild here were we live hard to burn in,but that will soon change. I open up some windows on my first couple of firings to rid the smell of paint and also it was in august when did my first burns. If you need anything let me know good luck.

harlen county ehhh? do they film "justified" there ?

Very nice install and sheet metal work! Enjoy the heat this winter
