It looks a lot like a Hampton HI-301 I installed recently, but it's hard to tell. Might also be a VC.

I'd definitely lean towards it being the Hampton over the VC Merrimack, which would be the only VC insert that kind of looks like that.

Definitely Hampton HI305 Enamel Timberline Brown.
No doubt.

Price range for that insert alone?

Not sure. I don't have that insert.
You could get local dealers off their website and call for a few quotes.
cmonStart is a dealer, maybe he can help you with price.

You have eyes like an eagle lol.. I could barely see that the stove as the pic was taken from a distance.. Nice looking house especially the screen room!

Well I cheated and went on Hampton's site. Didn't think it was at fist cause the main site only has a plain door with not fancy bars and such. But, if you do the "Make your own fireplace" thingy, sure as hell at model, up popped the HI301(plain black) and then the HI305, bingo, there it was.
But yes, based on the picture, which is hard to see. I found myself squinting, like I was actually trying to see across the room, like I do here to see the damn guide on the TV.
Squinting does not work on the picture though LOL.

LMAO that explains it! I miss the days when I didn't need reading glasses! At work both of my laptops are high-res and I need reading glasses to read the damn screen.. I could change the res but I need to see as much as possible or would have to scroll everything..

Thanks gents! Looks like a very nice 2.3 cubic foot cast iron stove, about the same as a jotul kennebec. Looks like it's sitting off the side of the house in a single-story external chimney.

Regardless, that's quite a nice stove - I found one price online for $3300, so I'm guessing installed with a good liner it was close to $4500-5000.

Roughly. I got a quote and it was about the same price as the Lopi Declaration. Between $2,900 and 3,200 before tax. Are you looking to buy the house or the insert, or is this just someone you know?

Beautiful house. After the painter leaves.

Understatement.

Crazy how housing pricing varies so widely throughout the country. That house around my area wouldn't be worth half that asking price right now. Don't know how you guys out east can afford to live. :)

I have friends that live in Cadillac, Michigan. They bought the house for $130,000 back in 2002. Last I saw, some of the houses in their neighborhood were going for $10,000-$40,000.

I had a quote for that stove installed with all materials, liner etc.. for $4500.

Hey guys,

My best friend is interested in the home. He has never been a wood burner before, so I'm very excited for him. I'm going to give him probably 1/2 a cord of my seasoned wood (probably all pine....a friend's a friend but seasoned wood is seasoned wood!). :)

In all seriousness, I'll give him pine because pine makes it far easier to learn how a stove operates. While he's wasting wood, he can do it using pine. I'm going to teach him the golden rule i've learned of wood burning:

"It's never about the flame. It's about the total heat output of the stove combined with the amount of hot air the stove is sucking out of your room and putting up the chimney. The hotter the stove and the less air you use, the warmer you'll be."

...

I won't speak to home prices, since they are so variable and this is a higher income area as well, but that house is a minor fixer-upper 1 block off the delaware river. That is primo real-estate and the delaware river-side road is covered in million dollar homes. Beautiful area - George Washington camps, battlegrounds, scout posts....everywhere.

I agree about how great that house will be once it's painted and lightly updated. It's a beautiful home now, but it needs freshening to my eyes. And, since I'm the best friend, I know the painter intimately....ME

...

Last note - looks like good amounts of maple and hardwood around the house. My buddy is a power-tool/truck lover with a slightly bad back, so I'm picturing him using the truck and chains to pull trees around, bucking with a chainsaw, and then using a splitter. I'm picturing being there beside him, cold beer in hand, giving "helpful" friend advice. Brings a tear to my eye :)

Grew up not too far from there. If it is near the river. May be a flood house. Make sure he checks for mold.
Those houses along the river took a few baths over the last few years.

Nice home but yeah the previous owner must have been colorblind. ;) Did you notice that the flue is awfully short?

I am wondering how well the stove drafts...

Short chimneys like that are common around here. Especially on old homes with additions. Never used one, though.
