Installing through the roof at the peak. Any ideas as how to seal it right since the flashing wont work?

Are you going thru the peak or right beside it. My best suggestion would be to get a couple of 45's and move it down some so the flashing will work.

You cannot go through the roof with doublewall smoke pipe. The smoke pipe needs to end at the ceiling and connect to a class A chimney which is approved to go through the roof.

Good point.
Double wall pipe gets hot. Class A for a good reason, house fires are bad.

I'm hoping he's using the wrong termanology.

How do you put the chimney thru the peak without some restructuring of the roof? Seems like it would be easier and better for the house to move it down the roof a foot or two

Most modern construction no longer has a ridge pole at the ridge, so no alteration needed.
