Anyone have experience with one of these generators?? http://www.briggsandstratton.com/generators-pressure-washers/portable-generators/detail/?name=P2000+PowerSmart+Seriesâ„¢+Inverter&id;={25504E3F-9402-4812-8EA4-28A397F2F643}

I picked up the 5500 watt Storm Responder a couple months back. While I haven't hooked up a transfer switch and powered the main panel yet, I have been running it periodically and "exercising" the generator with misc stuff like a couple 1500w heaters plus my pole saw. Seems to produce good power near its rated limit without bogging too much. Starts right up, runs pretty smooth and I don't find it to be too loud.
Of course the acid test will be when I hook it to the panel and try to power my well pump and other circuits (up to the rated limit).
Not much more I can say at this point as I haven't had to use it in an emergency, but so far it appears to be a decent unit.

I have the same unit and have been pleased so far.

That 2000 watt job he's talking about is a good bit different from the larger models. I'm interested to see how it does. The neighbor used a 2000 watt honda last power outage and I couldn't believe how quiet it was.

It's an inverter type, compact, PowerSmart, 2000watt. I have a 5000 watt Generac bought for Y2K, works fine, but wanted sine wave for at least pellet stove & furnace.

Look into the Champion 2000 watt inverter model $500. I bought one and was very happy with it, another member here bought one and was happy with it.

My review coming soon!

I was able to run a 1500 watt electric heater and a 300 watt drop light off it. (Generator is 1700 constant 2000w peak)

Plan on hooking the kilowatt meter up to it soon
