Relying on the wood for all heat in the house, I have gone through about 2 cords since October when the cold started to affect the temps inside the house. Running an older stove and trying to guage consumption as I contemplate a new unit. House is 1700 sq with stove in the basement.

I have been trying to burn whenever the weather indicates we need heat, but I haven't burned 1/2 a cord yet.

Burning fairly continuously in the Jotul C 450 since October (wife and kids like it WARM) I've gone through about a cord. Now that temps are finally getting down there at night, I've fired up the Harman Oakwood in the basement. I'll go through a lot more with the two going, but not a drop of oil all winter.

Once I move to the new house with the Econoburn, I'll have to learn all over again how much wood I need each year.

November temps were 8 degrees above normal, Dec temps are 7 degrees above normal so far. My wood usage is below normal at little less than 1/2 cord.

Also burning off/on since October. About 1 cord so far for heat/dhw. Been "chilly" last few nights though!

2 cords here so far, but I have 2600 sq ft no wind blocks for a mile.

About a cord and a half of poplar/pine/white birch junk. Haven't touched a stick of my oak. And if it stays mild all winter I won't . Got plenty more of the junk to burn anyway.

What are you running for a stove? Sq ft of house?

2/3 a cord - mostly junk wood. I've been setting my oak and cherry splits aside and burning ash and others. We had 17 days of above average temps in Nov and Dec. Winter comes around at night - but still nice during the day. May have left over wood at the end of the season - that's a bonus!

About 1/2 to 3/4 of a cord burned so far. Burning Ponderosa Pine and Popple to heat 2000 sq ft from the basement. Been running 24/7 since I got the Englander, though I was trying to run continuously since early November (Couldn't feed the Big Buck enough to do so).
It hurts the wallet when you get a new stove, but after even one week you start to ask yourself "Why the heck didn't I do this sooner!?"

About 3/4 of a cord here. The warm temps have certainly kept the usage lower than normal

1 cord of silver maple. I'll be getting into the better wood very soon.

I have 1600 sq ft upstairs, 1600 sq ft basement, old stove in the basement. I've probably gone thru about 1.5 cord of wood....3/4 of which was junk I was just getting rid of. Since I'm burning better stuff now I'm not using nearly as much even though the weather is colder. I'll probably burn about 5-6 cord this winter...

Just a hair over a cord so far, and 1/3 of that was Spruce.
House is about 1250 sq. ft. and not exactly well insulated and I keep finding little air leaks that I plug.
I'm thinking I'm still on a course for less usage this year. That would be good.

6- 40"x42"x36" kiln baskets of lumber cutoffs from the mill and half cord of split wood. The basket wood is easy to pull off when there isn't any snow which has been the case this year.
Just running the 17. Haven't fired the wood furnace yet or touched my main supply in the shed.
Last year around new years I was half way through my woodshed.Sure has been a nice fall.

about 1/2 cord with some hickory and sugar maple as of late! Seems to be rolling in just like last year, mild all the way up to Xmas then WHAM! Every weekend after that for a month we got snow with little melting with the frigid temps Jan-Feb last winter.

Two full cord of Quaking Aspen, looks like by the end of December we will have gone through .62 of a cord of Cherry. We are hoping to make this our second year without buying any oil. :cheese:

I haven't put much of a dent in my stash so far. It was so mild for so long that I was just letting the gas furnace run. It's just been the last few weeks I've been starting to burn 24/7 and even at that, I haven't been stoking up the stove, just resurrecting coals out of the ashes in the morning. I doubt I will burn half of my stash this Winter so I should have lots left over for next Winter.

I have been burning just nights and weekends, probably used 1/2 cord. Temps high and Gas prices are pretty cheap now and I am nursing an elbow injury. Tried to split some wood at lunch today, but elbow is no where near ready yet. Luckly I have about 15 cord ready.

We have burned a cord or hair over since the beginning of October. A third of that was Slabwood. 2400 sq ft home, EPA wood furnace.

Wood Gun boiler......about 2200 sq ft, half of which is well insulated - other half not so much but newer windows. With the leaves off the maples we get a fair amount of solar gain for a few hours on sunny days.

That's a great feeling! Another one is hearing people complain about the cost of heating bills...always puts a smile on my face.

Getting close to a cord. Mostly some 3 year old silver maple, some red oak too that was mixed in the pile. Most days have been about normal temps and no snow except for that October disaster.

Maybe 1/2 cord so far.
