I bought 2 tons of Greene Team from Lowes and they are suppose to deliver it today. They just left me a voicemail asking if I wanted the Infernos or the Green Supremes.

I am glad I was able to call them back in time and tell them neither.

I think they were confused because the Greene Team with the Military discount is 4.94 per bag.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Jon

I hope you are home to refuse the Infernos if that's what they deliver! There have been several posts here from people who bought from the big box stores and ordered one brand of pellets and got another.

No Worries Wifey will be home they will not leave the wrong ones.

Good news:

1 They delivered the correct pellet
2 They delivered the correct amount
3 They even put it in the Garage

Bad news:

1 They didn't put the pallets far enough in the garage are blocking the sensor for the auto door (still shuts manually though lol :) )

I would suggest turning away the Green Supreme's also!!

Really? I just tried 10 bags of Green Supremes and was happy with the flame, heat, and ash. But it was the first time trying them. bought them at Lowes. $5.97 a bag (expensive), but I wanted to try them.

Thus far, I have not been impressed with them. I have burned about five bags so far!! Maybe it's psychological since I only paid #3.05/bag at Lowes.

It helps in finding out that they aren't all the same and if you get a chance to visit someone with a stove that doesn't sweep the burn pot and is a top feeder you'll soon realize that the stoves have different tolerances for ash.

I'm a red shirt freshman in this pellet stove game, so please take my opinions accordingly!! I would agree to try more brands, that is my plan also.

Here in Long Island, NY we don't get much selection, especially if you want a good deal, you have to stick to the big box stores. Even from store to store the brands and prices vary. I am also new to the pellet buying game and so far I have gotten most of my stash from woodpellets.com. in the Spring. then i just shop here and there for what i can find. but right now, in Long Island, prices range from $5 to $6 a bag. I would love to try the other brands people always talk about, but they seem to be more regional.

I know I do too. The Greene Team burn well in my stove ( though a bit dusty) and I bought the 2 ton now to ensure I have enough pellets to get me through the colder months. I will still try many different brands to try to find the best bang for my buck. That way I can make the best decision possible on what to buy for next year ealier in the year to take advantage of better pricing.

I bought 3 bags of the Green Supremes to try out. Yeah, I know they're just NEWP's in another bag, but haven't burned any of those for 3 years either, so figured I'd give 'em a shot.

Have you guys ever tried any of the Pennington Premium Hardwood (Oak) pellets?

I think they come from several different plants around the country. We have one in South, Arkansas, not too far from where I live. They receive a lot of sawdust from the production of Oak Harwood Flooring. Our experiences have been good with them so far.

I've been burning Green Supremes so far this year. Just threw a bag of Vermonts in the hopper, that I haven't burned since last year. Man what a difference!

How'd you like em? I haven't burned any yet! Buy the last years NEWP's seemed much better than some of the old stuff.

Keep meaning to pickup a few, But wifey has me in check until after xmas!

$5.97? Sure you didn't get GT Platinum. I paid 4.49 for Green Supremes at Lowes. I thought they were alright, a little better than the Firesides I'm burning now. I haven't found any high-heat pellets this year yet.

Yes, Green Supremes for 5.97. unfortunately everything in Long Island is overpriced. you should see the electric rates - 21 cents for kwh!!!!!

Ya.. RIPOFF!! Vinny, have you tried calling the guy at Bravo Windows? He had okanigans, but they were high.. I really want Turmans for next year. I have also called and emailed LIwoodpellets.com numerous times and never get a call back or response to my emails..

I went to Bravo last year to try the Okanagans. Wasn't happy with their price and i found them ashy. it is a family owned business and they deliver and are really nice and local, so i want to buy from them again later in the winter (when the shed empties a bit), just to support them. though they do store some of their pallets outside (covered) from what i saw last year. but the pellets where dry. never tried LIwoodpellets

Hey, Vin, how did you like the woodpellet.com service? did you move and store all the bags already? any comments/review of the cleanfire softwoods?

Woodpellet.com was great. We still have the pellets in the garage for now. I like the Cleanfire much better than the Homestead. I think they put out a lot more heat, but I am using the Cleanfire Hardwood, not the softwood. Maybe I will try the Softwood next time..

On just about all door openers if you hold the button down it over rides the sensors and will close just fine.
