The stove is being installed as we speak. They had to run back to the shop to get dbl wall pipe...duh. Anyway I wanted to go straight up, but there is a roof rafter in the way, so they need to add 2 - 45 angled peices. I know this will kill my draft. What do u all think.

Two 45s won't "kill" your draft unless you have a highly marginal/problematic draft to begin with (i.e., highly marginal draft due to other issues/design flaws that should be fixed first anyway).

Yes, any angles reduce draft, but two 45s won't "kill" it.

You'll be fine, your 2 45's are better than my 90 and 3ft horizontal. Happy burning!

Probably too late to change horses Backwoods, but my install also would have hit a rafter.....I cut it, boxed it out and bridged around it. Not hard to do, but it will complicate things today. Don't think that you don't have options though. If you need more details, holler back at me.

thats what we opted to do.

Excellent news. I was worried that these guys would opt to sell you two 45's instead. Sounds like they've got some integrity.

They are extending this because it its to short with brackets right at the top of the roof. Is this ok?

I had to install 2 45's on my recent install to keep the stove out of an alcove created by the demo of the old fireplace.
The draft would still suck a paper towel up the chimney. Maybe I just lucked out but it was certainly a concern at first.
