So Cent ALASKA
About a coffee cup full of black sandy stuff
Most of it was in the top 2 feet & on the cap.
Pic before brush from the bottom looking up thru the clean out plug hole.
Looks good to me but I brushed it anyway,
The 2 year seasoned birch & the cat stove are burning pretty clean.

Has an angle iron brace to the house foundation. & clamped to the house in 2 places
Used the wood to move it up to get the slight down angle to the stove., Just left it there for extra support.

Improvements planned.
On the "to do list" for summer jobs.

Good its clean to begin with, even better you took the time to brush it anyway.

Something to be said for clean burning, and clean living.....

Pipe looks a lot better than mine does.

Allot better than last year & last year wasn't bad. Last year maybe 3X as much & the cap was caked real good.
Drier wood this year (2 year seasoned) & I can see the difference. Cap not caked much at all this time.

BB, you haven't had to run yours on HI yet, you're still mowing grass :)
Maybe next month :)

Don't know about that. One took off on me night before last. If 913 degrees stove top on one place on it won't get it done nothing will. At least the cap wasn't off in the woods somewhere.

Da 30-NC is one tough wood stove. Glad the welder on this one had a good nights sleep the night before.

Doesn't look bad at all. But, I'm of the same type as you, If I'm looking at it I might as well run the brush through it.

Out of curiosity, any guess on how much wood you have pushed through the monster since the last cleaning?

Just a little over 2 cords
90% birch, 10% spruce ±

Been meaning to clean mine, might do it this weekend. Been burning 24/7 for about 3 months now, have run maybe a cord or so.

913 degrees stove top :bug:
That should cure the paint & clean the pipes (inside & out)
Somebody mentioned something about having wet newspaper handy :)
Infrared satellite probably picked you up (Not a missile launch, it's just Bro Bart again) LOL

Holy cat scat Dave. 2 cord should take me just about thru February. We have much burning to do yet to get through a cord and at the rate this weather is going, maybe it will be 2 cord total for the winter.

Good to hear you cleaned that chimney and got so little. That is sweet.

Was cold earlier than norm. Started burning in Oct.
Nov was hovering around 0°f, Dec warmed up, now around normal teens & 20s.
32 now, slight wind.
Using less wood this month than last month.
Dennis, you may get winter yet. sure been above the averages in your area.

Right on Dave. Much above normal here. Some snow expected tomorrow night but temperatures in forecast look warm for this time of year. Between Christmas and New Years we are expected to get a cold shot. I saw one forecast that has us only in the teens for a high one or two days. That is more like January and February.

That is a nice page you found.
