If you had $1,000 bucks and there was nothing you NEEDED, but you had a long list of wants, what would you get? Pretend you aren't gonna invest or save it.

I'll go first: I think I might buy a new saw if I could. Like a megasaw, one that would last me forever, or until i get too old to pick it up. What's a 660 run? Something like that. Or maybe a splitter. Tough call, but probably something along those lines.

Anybody else have something in mind? Just wondering how many people in this world would buy saw related stuff they don't need. Also just cause it's fun to see where people's interests lie.

I don't particularly NEED a place to keep my wood dry. Simply stacking between trees and T-posts has served me well with a tarp over the wood I plan to burn next. But I could easily build a nice place to stack wood with $1000 but I definitely don't NEED it.

It would have to be a couple of thousand. But I would really like a Farmi winch for the tractor. I've come close to buying one a couple times but then I think man I could do that with some chains,

It would be applied towards a Cummins swap in my wood hauler. Yes, I do not NEED it, but it sure would be fun! :)

LOL
I was going to suggest adding another zero... I have expensive desires.

A new saw to replace my decades old Partner would be high on the list. Not that I need a new saw, just that I'm not sure what the old girl has left in her.
A small used tractor or quad if $1000 could get me anything that runs. The lawn tractor just isn't quite up to the task.

Nobody thinking they want a new iPad (plus fixins) or computer or tv or home theater system or full sized Darth Vader wax statue? Y'all (I guess I'm included) are a rare breed.

Hard one danno! If you would have ask yesterday it would have been a shot gun. Today I have 3.......

A few hundred could get you my Darth Cheney bust. Man- I must have had more time on my hands than I remember to goof off like that

I'd blow it on a downpayment for new 3120XP or a very good vintage Stihl 090/McCulloch Super Pro 125 w/ 60" roller nose bar (one of the best SP125 I've seen just sold on Ebay from Saw-King 2 days ago for around $800 with shipping)

I just got done exchanging emails with a guy who has a rough, but complete, 090. It comes with a parts saw (not very complete case-wise) he turned down my lowball offers of 350+shipping... If you want one to work on and bring back to glory this could be it. PM me if you are interested.

In the wood processing arena
I'd add an axle to my trailer or sell/trade it for a dual axle one.
That's a "need/want", to save on trip to the wood cutting area.

1000 bucks could get me 3 cords of OAK!!!!!

Consider the deal sealed! -As soon as Danno's $1000 check clears the bank.

Lol, Jay, you should load up and start driving. The check should clear by the time you make it to his house. If not, just sit out in the street until it does...

This will be cash and carry!

You guys deliver to Alaska? :wow:
Christmas time, so we usually get free shipping :)

3 shotty's? Tell me more......

My grand would be applied to an AR platform of some type/caliber

I will also sell my 18mo old oak for another $G. Jay and I will caravan lmao

With a 1000 clams I would invest in a pro modle saw 357 xp or stihl mag series . Maybe a splitter to save my back!!!!!

I have a fisher wood stove, but just spent 1000.00 on a summit stove. I am looking at saving my body in the wood I hope I will save. Time will tell, cannot work the wood as well at 65. Getting more tools to take the work out of it. Tim

A used band mill for $1000 would make me a very happy camper. I'd like a $1000 tractor as well, but that don't count 'cause I really need one.

Another thing would be a Canon 50D to replace my slow-as-a-turd 1st generation Rebel.

A grand won't crack my want list.

I bought the exact stove I want 3 years ago ($1800 - could have got the plain model for $1200) and the exact saw I want last summer ($967 Probably could have got something suitable in the $700 range). And I don't give 2 sh_ts about a splitter.

Also, a grand won't bring home a 660 - at least not a new one - but it'll get you into a 440/441/460
