Ya broke the stove already and you don't even have it yet.

This could be a hearth.com classic.
 
could have been worse, i thought when i opened the thread it would be ablout one ive seen many times. folks will occasionally "coax" a split in withthe door , or the knot sticking out resulting in broken glass.

ive heard the tale of woe several times. at least this wassnt one of those times. that glass is expen$ive!!!

done it as well, not with pieces big on girth but with length. They might fit in on a diagonal daily burn but not at night when everything gets laid up nice. I have a special holding area for those pieces. Never have had to run to the door with a flaming chunk though, but I've had a little smoke in the house from a burning piece that won't quite fit till I get it jiggered around some.
 
I have run out the door with burning splits once or twice.
 
I think I good put a whole tree trunk in this BK. :p
