Dumb move = Important lesson (small firebox)

could have been worse, i thought when i opened the thread it would be ablout one ive seen many times. folks will occasionally "coax" a split in withthe door , or the knot sticking out resulting in broken glass.

ive heard the tale of woe several times. at least this wassnt one of those times. that glass is expen$ive

Well you can tell your wife that your wood is so big it won't fit.

done it as well, not with pieces big on girth but with length. They might fit in on a diagonal daily burn but not at night when everything gets laid up nice. I have a special holding area for those pieces. Never have had to run to the door with a flaming chunk though, but I've had a little smoke in the house from a burning piece that won't quite fit till I get it jiggered around some.

I have run out the door with burning splits once or twice.

I think I good put a whole tree trunk in this BK.
