the wood is more white but picture shows a yellow color its is a camera issue but wood is very white inside

Hard to say how punky that really is. If I poke it with the saw scrench and it's hard, I don't care what it looks like, I'm burnin' it! :cheese:
 
Its showing up pretty yellow on my screen. My guess Black locust.
 
very heavy burn hot and long . white oak or Ash?
 
I have had elm that looked like that and good elm (there are different elms just like different maples) is just a little below red oak.

+1 - not the most punky wood I've seen - I've kept worse. Cheers!
