Good stove. Not perfect but good. Side door for fuel loading is very nice, no smoke draft into house when using side door. This baby is a miser on wood. Only burned 2 face cords of pine and was plenty warm enough and knocked about 1/3 to 1/2 of my fuel bill out. Very nice considering this winter propane appraoched 2+ dollars a gallon.
Firebox too small, hard to get more than 3 or 4 pieces in at a time. Also because it is a small fire box I tended to bump my hand more often when loading wood which in turn lead to lots of soot getting onto my hands. One other thing was the ash pan as usual with most is too small, I'd rather just shovel the ashes...its easier, but then again since the firebox is small its kinda hard to shovel. Side door handle latch kept loosening up on me and would have to turn the bolt every once in awhile to retighten, of course if you tighten it too much you can't turn the handle at all...that could be better designed..
Never could get an all night burn. 4/5 hours was max but coals are still plenty warm enough in the morning to fire it up. I wouldn't recommend this to someone trying to heat their home entirely with wood, but its a perfect little model to be used in the great room to supplement your heat source and keep your bills down.
