Caluwe Hydronic Wood and Pellet stoves
Likes: I bought my stove in 2003, and we've had it in for 3 weeks now. Before purchasing the stove, I researched stoves for three months and spoke to everyone that I could about woodstoves. Although my wife and I have always dreamed about having a fireplace, we've never had one. When we built an addition onto our house in 2003, we decided to buy a stove.

Short Story:
I looked at Woodstocks stoves early in my research, decided they were too expensive, and went looking for others. Three months later, after lots of research, I purchases a Woodstock stove.

Full Story:
We came very close to buying a Vermont Castings or a Waterford, and then found out that the quality of both companies has gone down the tubes since they were both purchased by larger corporations. People who owned either brand that I talked to would become SERIOUSLY upset when discussing the short-comings of their stoves.

We seriously looked at JOTUL stoves - people seemed to be happy with those.

What really clinched it for me was three things: (1) Woodstock's excellent customer service - the salespeople were always polite and friendly; (2) their excellent reputation - everyone rates their Woodstock stoves highly - and Woodstock was the ONLY company that I could find that offers a money-back guarantee on their stoves - nobody else seems to stand by their stoves like that; (3) the fact that people use these stoves 24/7. I'm not using the stove as a primary source of heat, but I wanted to be very certain that I could leave the house without having to worry about the stove.

Facts aside, now the fun stuff.........

My kids (ages 5 & 8) LOVE it! They both race from the bathtub in their pj's to be the first in front of the stove. My daughter (5) likes to nap several feet away from the stove. When she's not napping, she's drawing pictures on the tile in front of the stove........if we need to know where she is, we just look by the stove first! :-)

My wife LOVES it! She thinks it's VERY romantic, and I'm a happy man (if you catch my meaning.........;-)

I LOVE it! Besides keeping me warm, and knowing that I have a 6-month trial with a money-back guarantee, Woodstock was also the only company that I could find that offers financing for the stove. Since our addition (as additions tend to do) went somewhat over budget, it was nice to have the option of a payment plan.

Dislikes: This truly is an awesome stove. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

The only small, tiny change that I would make is that I wish the stove would open from the front, with the option of putting a screen over the opening. It would be nice to hear the crackling of the fire (and to let the kids roast hot dogs and marshmallows). To be fair, you CAN do this from the side opening, but it's a little small........

oh well. ya can't have everything, right?!? :-)

Comments: A great stove.
