The 3100 is an excellent choice. When used and vented properly, you can get some serious heat output with decent hardwoods. On a recent day when the high was 19 F, I was able to heat and maintain the inside heat at 72F without the furnace starting once. Long overnight burn times too.
The first year I had it, one of the stainless steel secondary tubes kept falling out because of the expansion and contraction of the heat tiles resting on top of them. Didn't have the problems anytime after that.
Great stove. I wouldn't look any further.
