Caluwe Hydronic Wood and Pellet stoves
Likes: Stove fit into fireplace, is EPA certified, and has a direct connection via flexpipe to the top of the chimney. 1. Draft via the flexpipe(15') is sufficient for the stove. Chimney goes up through the house. 2. Single air control which is easy to use. 3. Glass door handle does not get hot in any position. 4. Professional installation was worth the money given the number of ledges between liner tiles in the chimney.

Dislikes: 1. Upon opening the stove, a little smoke comes out however this is probably due to my inexperience with an EPA stove. The manual suggests to open the door a little and hold then open it up to add a log. 2. After the first weekend burn, there was a little haze on the front glass at the lower corners. 3. The fan makes a more noise that I would like between medium and high settings like some air conditioners. 4. The stove company only supplies 3 specific sizes of pannels to surround the stove and the installation instructions only say to put it infront of the hearth area which blocks the fireplace. The pannels should be changable to any size to give you the option to only fill in the space between the stove and the inside edge of the hearth area. This would give the unit a built in look and not hide the front of the fire place. Take a look in the advertisement book and notice that the river rock fire place is covered up.(not good)

Comments: I had the stove professionally installed. The stove was $1620 for the stove and $250 for the varriable speed blower fan. The installation included $400 for the flex pipe kit, $100 for adapters with solid bends for our tricky chimney and an installer price of $550. Total cost of $3200 with tax. The install was worth every penny given the trouble that they had getting the pipe down the chimney.
The dealer also took my concerns with reguards to the size of the stove and fact that I did not want the cover pannel. In the end, they let me pick what I wanted. Country woodstoves of Sparkill NY is also a family owned business. The father sells the stoves and the son does the chimney sweep and intall functions. A good set up to help the local business in my area.
