Likes: 1999 Model 36BW with catalytic combustor bought used. Nice fireview, and ash drawer makes cleanup easier. Auto/Manual thermostat is nice. Had to replace the Cat combuser after it was only 5 year old, but I was using alot of semi-wet wood the first year. New combuster and dry wood made a HUGE difference in heat output.

Dislikes: I think all manuf claim more heating ability than true. Mine claims 3000 SF but my house is 1200 first floor and 1200 in block basement (where stove is located). Burn times are long but cat cools down near end of cycle unless you burn fast.

Comments: Unit is ~$1200 new, so getting it for 350 used 4 years was great deal. If I insulate my basement walls and add more in the attic, it would definitely benefit. Average temp in Dec, Jan Feb is about 20 farenheit. and I cut my heat bill in half. Unit will also go in a fireplace with the base removed, but mine is free standing with Duravent tripple wall pipe.
