Likes: Long burn time with even better heating time, easily goes all night burning white oak. I haven't used it much yet but so far I only load it once in the morning, another in the afternoon, then top off before going to bed. I run with the stove tops temperature at ebout 500-550 degrees. The viewing glass stayed spotless even when damped all the way down. It is easy to operate, I may even allow my wife to use this stove. The looks are unique, you will either like it or not, I obviously do. Within 25 minutes of the first fire I had useful heat coming off the stove and our dog found a new home in front of it.

Dislikes: No ash pan, other models do offer this but they had smaller fire boxes and I just liked the looks of the fireview too much to pass it up. It has been mentioned that the loading door handle gets too hot this is true. I wear leather gloves, problem solved. Some people have complained about the weight, I do not see this as an issue. I unloaded this stove from my truck and installed it into my house by myself. I am not sure if catylitic stoves are the best. At first I was turned off by this, but when all things are considered so long as they are maintained they do burn cleaner and more efficiently than non catylitic stoves. My only real complaint is I wish the viewing glass was larger, again they (woodstock) do make other models with bigger viewing glasses but the looks of the fireview are just too hard to pass up.

Comments: This stove is incredibly well made, especially when compared to all other manufacturers including jotul, hearthstone, and quadra fire. The double walled construction through out inspire a lot of confidence when leaving the home for the day with the stove burning. You will not find a better built stove, or at least I could not and believe me I looked exhaustively. If you are considering one of these stoves and you can make it to the manufacturer in New Hampshire I strongly recomend you make the trip. They will be happy to show you exactly how they make the stoves, you can then use that knowledge to compare it to other stove manufacturers construction methods. After doing this myself the decision to buy a wood stock was a no brainer. Another reason to go to the factory is so you can pick out your stove in person they all look different and are unique in their own way. Everyone who has seen the stove in person has been really surprised at how good it looks, the mental images of a black metal box quickly evaporate. If you need any other reassurances about this stove companies credability read the reviews on this site, the only other stove company that comes close is Jotul.
