Being able to see the fire.

Dislikes: Plan ahead or be patient, because getting a fire going when the stove is cold takes about half an hour of monitoring. You can do other things at the same time - but you need to pay closer attention for the first while while you are getting the stove up to temp, adjusting the airflow, and engaging the catalytic unit. This isn't really a con, just a fact of use to be aware of.

Comments: Our Fireview is beautiful and built with exemplary craftsmanship. We've had it two years now and have been very pleased. It puts out a tremendous amount of even heat. If we load the stove before bed at 11:00 PM, it still has lots of coals at 6 or 7 AM, the house is toasty warm, and reviving the fire is no problem. Our house is a tri-level. The stove is in the living room on the mid-level and heats not only the upstairs and mid-level, but we open the door to the basement when we get too warm and it will heat down there too. The glowing ambiance of watching the fire in the evening is wonderfully enjoyable. Both my husband and I have lived with woodstoves since we were kids; that's over 40 years of woodstove experience each with many different stoves, and the Fireview is by far the best we've ever had. Our family, including our dog and cat, love it!
