Excellent heating capacity. Large fire box handles long pieces of wood placed diagonally. Large window makes for wonderful viewing experience. Two speed fan blows plenty of hot air into the room. Auto shutoff of fan is great for night time. Gold door and trim (option) is beautiful. No catalytic converter.
High speed of fan is rather loud - we use it when we're not watching TV or not in that room. The low speed fan is much quieter. The air control lever is not very exacting, but it works fine.
We owned a Vermont Casting Encore wood stove in our last house and thought we loved it. Now we realize that was just puppy love. The Regency I2400 is twice the unit the Vermont Casting was. We heated our entire 4,000 square foot house this winter with just the wood stove (we have ceiling fans in key rooms). Our furnace turned on late at night and in the morning before I stoked up a new fire. That's it. This was not a very cold winter in New England, but we still had some nights around 5 or 10 degrees and the unit kept up without much problem. The large window is an enormous plus - we love just sitting by the fire and watching the flames dance around the wood box.
We looked at Jotels, Hearthstones and Lopis before settling on this model. And we are very, very glad that we chose this Regency.
