Likes: Beautiful wood stove. It heats the whole cabin in northern Saskatchewan. Nice flame picture, although the glass needs regular cleaning. Good heat output for 3 hours, gradually reducing output if not reloaded after 4 hours. Probably better burn times available with hardwood, as we burn pine and aspen softwoods. Excellent dealer service!

Dislikes: Burn time of 4 hours is half of advertised burn time. We will have some red coals after 6 hours, but no heat output. I suspect all stove manufacturer's are prone to making the same outrageous claims to keep up with the others. Of course, burning hard wood would likely increase burn times significantly.

Comments: We have R30 ceiling, R12 walls, with an R10 insulated crawl space. We can get temperatures as low as -42 C in northern Saskatchewan, but this winter the coldest was -30 C (-22 F). The stove was great! I would not recommend a smaller stove even thought this stove is recommended for 1500 square feet. It heats the cabin nicely, and will likely be good for up to 1200 square feet, but it very rarely overpowers the room. When it does, we crack a window for a short time and it's no problem. We never shut it down to let it smolder. A smaller stove could come up short when it goes to -40.

I called the closest dealer to Saskatoon which happens to be Yorkton Fireplace. Not only did he have the best price by far compared to other dealers in Alberta, he packed up the stove and shipped it to me the same day I ordered it and sent the cheque. I ordered the stove on a Monday, and picked it up at the shippers two days later on Wednesday. Can't beat that!
