Well built, nice looking flame. Efficiency rating is great and burns very clean.
Dislikes:
The fire bricks by the back air injection holes broke after 2 years. The wood at the front burns faster than the wood farther back, this is probably a result of the air wash system and air flow. I must rake wood/coals forward from time to time.
Comments:
I redid the two fire bricks at the injection ports with standard brick.
The 'time of burn' rating for all stoves is obviously with a loaded stove and damped way back. I expect 4 hours at the average BTU Output. 9 hours with little output and embers in the morning.
It is in the basement and I cut a vent in the return duct (running thru the basement near the stove) and then added a thermostat set to air condition. When the temperature gets to 78 the furnace fan comes on and moves the heat through the house. Works pretty good.
A nice insert, I had an Isle Royal Quad in another house and liked it.
