Dislikes: This insert has never functioned satisfactorily. The dealer (The Stove Shop in Phoenixville, PA) was unresponsive to my requests for help in improving the situation. (Quote unquote: "Well, what do you expect us to do about it?") I finally hired a third party to correct several errors with the stove's installation. This made the stove less life-threatening to operate, but no more efficient. Closing the door creates huge amounts of smoke, blackening the window so thoroughly that you can hardly see the fire. And then you have to scrub the soot off the window every day. Worse, trying to engage the catalytic converter causes frightening back-puffing, and shortly the fire goes out. I've ended up just using the stove as a fireplace, with the door open. The fan is also unusable: it's so loud you can't talk over it, and pulls smoke into the living area. Finally, very little heat emerges from the insert into the living area. Unless you're sitting within three feet of the door, you can't feel the warmth at all.

Comments: I'm saving up to buy a new, free-standing, non-catalytic woodstove. The Winter Warm insert was a sad waste of money. I was also very disappointed with The Stove Shop's complete indifference to customer satisfaction.
