Likes: Small footprint good for replacing existing open fireplace (that\'s what I did...with minimal modifications).

Flexible install requirements...more options than most units as far as set-backs and clearances.

Simple design...no louvers allows more facing options.

Burns nicely...firebox seems like a refined design. You can clearly see the secondary burn as it consumes the smoke.

Minimal smoke out the chimney. Keeps the air and chimney clean.

Surprising heat delivery...between radiant off the door and the blower puts most heat into house.

Keeps steady heat in my house, offsetting most (but not all, although not expected) burning of fuel oil. Impressed with heat capability. No comparison to an open fireplace...can\'t believe I wasted all that wood!!

Dislikes: Really like the unit so far (burned about 1/2 cord). Might only make some minor suggestions for improvement.

If you\'re looking for fancy louvers, cutouts and a fancy cast iron door, look at the Brentwood / Ultima. The Ladera / Nova is a simple, no-frills design, which we really like.

Comments: Jury still out on FireplacesNow.com. Order and delivery of the unit was fine, but after-sale support not great so far.
