Other Information about the Home and Stove

Likes: Our home is not small and it has not let our furnace come on at all since we purchased it last winter. It keeps the whole house very comfortable. Most anyone that visits compliments us on it\'s appearance.

Dislikes: No matter which method we experiment with on loading wood, we can\'t get long burn times at all even with really good wood which of course can result in using our wood up rather fast. It is possible that we may have an \'over draft\' though.
The blower is too noisy.

Comments: Even with short burn times we love our Buck Stove. It never fails to keep us cozy and warm. Stove room - 80f (with a window cracked open), rest of the house range is no lower than about 65f at the furthest point from the stove room. This is a long sprawled out one floor ranch style home. If you purchase a Buck 81 and get short burn times like we do, you may want to install a damper in the stove pipe. We are considering that option.
