This stove replaced an old steel stove that we loved we wanted a cleaner burning stove though. Our house stays warmer over all with the Mansfield. 70-80 degrees It will put out lots of heat with dry dry wood. Like the ash pan just be sure to empty it everyday.
Dislikes:
Needs very dry wood to live up to its potential. Recovery time from a cold stove seems long
Comments:
After a month we took this stove out and put our old one back in we could not get enough heat out of if with wet wood in the winter of 2009-2010 we put the soapstone back in, and with dry wood it worked very well. Make sure you have dry wood and you will not be disapointed
