Heats well, when stuffed with logs. You really have to learn how to handle it. Looks really good. Absorbs huge logs up to 65 Centimeters.
Not easy to handle. It needs logs, at least 2 big ones per hour. Air inlet has an adjustment way of some 5 centimeters, but actually you can only adjust \"on\" or \"off\". Needs often air from ash door. Though we have a chimney of 10 meters which sucks very well. Ash comes out when You open the doors. The glass window gets black after 1 to 2 days of burning, even when you burn it very hot. It doesn´t matter me, but i report it because for many people it is an important fact.
We bougth the stove after long search and couldn´t find others which could fit optically to our 300 yrs old house. I checked this site and was positively impressed about the stove. To give back the help we found here i can´t avoid to damp down the positive impressions. This is specially astonishing, because we have also the Jotul F 602, which is the best stove i ever met. See my review. So finally the F 500 was a little or even a little more disappointing, compared to the marketing promises and the reviews on this site.
