Comments: We live in the Adirondack Mountains of NY. We start our heating season in sept and do not end until may. Thats a long heating season. We purchased our stove in 12/09. it replaced a VC vigilant, solid cast iron and it heated our home ( an old farm house) very well, ie: windows open in the middle of the winter. its was a good stove, but dirty and not very efficient. this was primarily the reason for replacement. the soapstone is definately different, its a different type of heat which is more comfortable, we can now use the living room to relax in, At first, though I was not comfortable with the new stove, I was not used to heating up the mass of the stove, dealing with side loading and smaller fire box. At present I find all these minor, easy to overcome and find the stove perfect in all ways, easy to use and definately keeps a fire. Dealing with the factory was a snap all personal are up to snuff and answer all questions. Best of all we visited the factory to pick up our stove and was able to see how it was put put together by competent personel. all in all a great stove, glad we got one
