Once it gets going, heats the room well. Does not require catalytic converter
Upper baffle is fragile and difficult to replace. hard to start a fire.
I have been burning wood as a main heat source for 35+ years. This stove is better than some, worse than some. Once going, it burns nicely, and the removable ash pan is a nice feature. Needs emptying daily in the cold times. Can be really hard to start a fire, ash door needs to be open to get enough air to start a fire. The baffle that routes the smoke to the front of the stove and moves it past the re-burn tubes is junk. It burns out quickly if not broken by stove loading first. replacement baffle is too expensive for what it is. First replacement of baffle was difficult, because although the dealer sold me one, they would not help at all with suggestions on how to replace it. It\'s not that hard to replace, but the lack of dealer and manufacturer support is a negative.
