The stove eats enormous amounts of wood to get sufficient heat from the unit. It is a very noisy unit- pops, creeks, clanks, sounds at times like someone is druming slowly on a kitchen pot. The fire box is not large enough to put enough wood in to put out adequate heat for more than 6 or 7 hours.
I replaced a 33 year old Fisher wood stove that did a better heating job, albeit it polluted the air more than this unit, with the Lennox stove and am questioning my decision now. I wanted to use my old 8\" chimney system without using an adapter and this fact influenced me toward the S260. I think I should have looked around some more.
