Other Information about the Home and Stove
Room Size (Sq ft): 280 | House Size (Sq feet): 1800
Bought in 2010 , Price Paid: 1400
Location : st. paul, mn , usa
Purchased from: Fireplace Retail Store - Condor fireplace and stone

Likes: Starts easily, very simple to operate. Porcelin brown enamel finish looks great. Throws great heat w/ good seasoned wood. This is the right sized stove for our room, but not necessarily for heating the whole house.

Condor had great pricing, better than the internet and were very helpful with installation information and stone selection for the hearth. I installed the stove myself 4 months ago w/o any problems and they were very helpful making sure I had all the parts I needed for the install. I only had to make one quick run to menards for an extra rain collar that was called for by the chimney install manual.

Dislikes: Don't expect an all night burn w/ this firebox, but I knew that going in based on other comments here. Wish Napoleon made a cast stove based on the 1400 firebox.

Comments: This is our first woodstove and we are learning as we go. That being said, we love this stove in our new family room addition. Heats the room great, too well actually if you don't use fans to draw the warm air out of the room. We use a third less natural gas running this stove morning and night as supplemental heat. However, if this stove were located in a more central part of the house, it could probably heat all the upper floor rooms very well.

If I had a good supply of seasoned oak, I might be able to get a decent overnight burn. Right now I think my burn times are more like 4-5 hours rather than the 7 listed by the manufacturer. But we are very happy with this unit after having it just 4 months.
