Likes: When it works, it is great

Dislikes: We have to replace the thermocouple every years. Sometimes twice a year - like this year. We started having problems immediately. Went through first season, but the following season thermocouple went within a month of using it. I am certain there is a problem with this particular model. We have contacted the manufacturer but they never reply. The local company is good to a point - still soaked us for at least another 400 dollars in terms of maintenance and labor. They always say they will give us the part (about a 15 dollar part) - but charge us the labor which is around 180 each time. Initially we paid the local shop 120 dollars a year to service the fireplace, but since we replace the thermocouple every year anyway, we decided to just wait until they come out to replace it the next time. I would never recommend this stove. Save your money and buy one of the cheaper "Heat and Glo" products. Guarantee it will work just as well and if it breaks you will have endless companies who can do the work on it for you - instead of buying this off brand because it is, supposedly, top of the line. It isn't.
