"Looks like" the other two Defiant Encores that we have had in the past manufactured by Vermont Castings. Cast printing says: "Vermont Castings".
This is not a quality product inspite of CFM/Majestic having a quality control certification ISO 9000. Not the Vermont Castings brand quality though manufactured in Vermont they say. Unlike the other three VC stoves bought, this unit did not have any sign of having been inspected before crating and shipping. The previous VC stoves had an inspector's tag and code. Out of the packing crate: loose front door latches, ash pan door flopping on its hinges, the catalyst damper would not operate, loose bolts on the unit, many large chunks of furnace cement flaking off from the exterior seams, small chips on the porcelain finish, the temperature control arm was misaligned on the side on the stove. After over 12 hours adjusting the parts the stove was unable to be controlled for a proper burn because of air leaks. Local dealer repaired the stove with expenses authorized by Discount Stove. A hole in the ash drop was closed, and gasketing redone. It now operates marginally.
Will not buy any other product associated with CFM/Majestic.
