This sealed zero-clearance fireplace insert is exceedingly efficient with the outside air intake
and affords a great view via the large glass doors. It also allows a greater degree of burn adjustability than newer certified models. Conveniently it takes up to 22 inch logs and can
have a relatively long burn time if adjusted to a low burn rate. It appears to be rock solid after burning an average of 4 cords of wood in it per year for 14 years with no observable wear to any components.
Not necessarily a con but this is a heavy unit for installation purposes. I'd say the heft is what
adds to it's seemingly toughness and reliability. ie it is built "heavy duty"
This is a wood burning unit that can be switched to gas logs if you anticipate during installation
and provide the needed gas connections.
