Once it gets going it is very efficient in heating not only the room it sits in but the house as well, as the house is open. I love the glass door so we can see the fire and it stays clean. The white enamel is pretty and durable.
It seems to take a long time to get the fire going. My glass door cracked the second year we had it. I have to leave the fire door cracked ever so slightly in order to keep the fire going. The draft slide draft doesn't seem to give enough air.
I generally like the looks of the stove and its performance. However, I am having a hard time finding anyone willing to clean the chimney. Due to the catalyst being installed right in the stove they have a hard time seeing up the chimney. I will admit the roof is rather high pitched. However, my greatest concern is when I asked my local Jotul dealer who they would recommend or call and how does one check the chimney without going on the roof they told me that Jotul stoves because the way they are built do not need to have their chimneys cleaned. I find this hard to believe and would appreciate any recommendations you have to offer regarding this. You can E-mail me at Janfol@aol.com Thank you. janfol
