Other Information about the Home and Stove
Room Size (Sq ft): 300 | House Size (Sq feet): 1450
Bought in 1997 , Price Paid: 900
Location : Fairplay, CO 80440, USA
Purchased from: Fireplace Retail Store - Out of business

Likes: Easy to load, tremenous heat disappation, green color matches decor of the mountain cabin where we installed it. Easy to clean, door lifts off to clean glass. Ash drawer easy to access. So efficient, we burn only our dead Aspen trees, the pine will create too much heat for the cabin.

Dislikes: Stove too large for the size of the cabin. Get some back draft through the vent slots at the front top of the stove when it is very humid or below -10 degrees. This puts smoke throughout the cabin and the smell is much worse than regular burning wood. This also may be caused by our elevation, which is 10,500 ft.

Comments: Using a small fan, can blow the heat around the cabin and even out the heat distribution to a more tolerable temperature. We have R-50 in the ceiling and R-30 in the walls of the cabin and the windows are the high efficiency low E double pain type. We feel the manufacturer under rates the stoves heating ability and their rating pointed us in the direction of a stove too big for our needs.
