The Fireview is most attractive woodstove I have found. Everything the company claims that the stove will do is true. The soapstone-stove stone hold the heat for a longer time rather than the steel plate metal or total cast iron stoves. The soapstone woodstove are more of a constant, even, gentler heat. They do not have the pecks and valleys of hot and cold like metal stoves. I had no problems receiving my stove or ordering it from 3000 miles across the country. I cannot say enough good things about the helpful staff at WoodStock. The staff is not car salesmen. They truly help you with choosing what is best for your home.
The stove is very heavy, which I donít really mind, 485 lbs. The handle on the door to load the wood could be better designed with a coil spring like the one for the top closure to radiate the heat from the hot handle. I truly wish that the WoodStock company would make a larger Fireview woodstove for 2250 to 3000 sq. ft plus homes. I think many people with large homes would purchase one. Note: I have been told that people do heat large home depending on the style of the house. But a larger model would be nice.
I must of called WoodStock Company two dozen times and wrote to them several times before purchasing a WoodStock Fireview woodstove model. I also wrote to a half a dozen homeowners or more and called all around the United State to as many people that I could find that has these types of woodstoves. This is one of the best rating of any woodstoves that I found. The customer service is excellent to deal with and very knowledgeable. The WoodStock Fireview woodstove has lived up all that the company claims. I have had the stove operating since the October and have been very pleased they the stove so far. I havenít had to clean the glass since October 1 of this year when I first starting the stove. At noon today I put in three 4 to 6 inch round pieces of oak in it before leaving for work. My wife said the stove temperature was approximately 300 degrees when she came home at 7:00 PM; house was warm and she installed a couple of pieces of wood. The far back bedrooms are somewhat cool, but comfortable; remember I have a ranch style house and the woodstove is at the other end. Note: I conducted over 6 months of extensive research in to purchasing a woodstove. Read my report on the Forum (Consumer Report on Woodstoves Revised). I believe so far I have found the best woodstove for the dollar.
