Caluwe Hydronic Wood and Pellet stoves
Likes: - Extremely efficient: A couple of logs lasts a long time and the soapstone retains heat for hours
- Smoke-free: You would never know that we burn wood in our house
- Looks good: Adds to the decor of our home
- Easy to Operate: One lever controls the burn rate
- Incredible warmth: We wear t-shirts and shorts in the dead of a Wisconsin winter

Dislikes: - I honestly cannot think of one

Comments: We built our house ten years ago. At that time, I had to have the biggest fireplace available. In a short time, I realized I had made a mistake because whenever we burnt a fire, heat would just go right up the flue. In addition, we have an undersized furnace that struggled to keep the house warm. Realizing the mistake we made, we tore out the fireplace and set out to replace it with a wood-burning stove. We initially looked at Vermont Casting products, but by reading other reviews, we found out that their product had suffered in the past ten years or so. Through that same research, we read really positive things about soapstone stoves, in general, and specifically Hearthstone Stoves. We were fortunate enough to find a dealer who was honest, straight-forward and very helpful. He came over to the house and helped us with the stove placement. They did an awesome job with the demolition of the fireplace and the installation of the wood-burning stove. We needed extensive dry-wall where the fireplace once stood. The gentleman that they had dry-wall far exceeded the skills of our original drywallers (when we built the house). I wish he would have done our house for us ten years ago. Oh, by the way, our house has an open concept and the stove absolutely has no problem heating our entire home. That includes a great room with a 23 foot peak ceiling.

After living with the stove for one season, I could not be more satisfied. Our house is now warm and comfortable. My wife, who was always cold, walks around in a tank top and shorts! Yee-hah!

In conclusion, the stove is easy to fire, burns clean, doesn't smell, looks great, my wife parades around half naked in the winter and life is good again. God Bless You, Phoenix Hearthstone!
