Looks good. Heavy, if it were ever to get up to full heat,
it might actually do some good. Sturdily made. Might be nice with a regulated heat source like gas. Airtight.
Almost impossible to start here in Maine unless you have dry wood flown in from Arizona on a regular basis. Have to constantly fiddle with it; and the heavy handle is a pain, since you always have to open and close things. Too small of a smoke box, so the room always fills with smoke. Intake vents are too small to keep a fire going. Glass never stays clean, in spite of manufacturers claims.
Having had wood stoves for the past 20 years in both Montana and Oregon, I guess that I was expecting something that would be an improvement on the ones I've used that were made more locally at a fraction of the cost. Basically, I run it with the ash box door open to get enough air through it; and I don't even have a damper - it just doesn't draft. Plan on selling it this fall for something more functional. For the price, you should expect better performance and functionality, IMHO.
