Great looking, great performance, easy to use, as advertised. I shopped for about a year and chose this partially from what I read here. I've burned both cord wood and slab works great on both cord wood significantly better though. Use the right wood and you will get the long burn times. Many people complained about short burn times, operator error my conclusion. One lever control no catalyst to screw around with. I had my wife easily using this in a a day or two. Soft heat as described, and heat life excellent also, because of soapstone. Glass stays very clean if it's not it'll burn off with next hot fire, exception lower corners.
Back puffs unless you have good flames, so only an issue when starting. Top surface scratches easily, have to be very careful with steamer or food. Use gasket underneath to protect. No warming shelves available, or open fire screen(I saw as desirable options)
I would highly recommend the dealer Morgz Pavilion, NY and this stove! I know from reading this will join a large list of positives for Heartstone, great work guys.
