Those leaves where diffently from that tree, i broke them off myself. They do match with the pictures of elm leaves.
yes it sort of smells like cow manure when first split. Also after drying alittle the dark brown is turning light brown.
This wasnt that hard to split it. It popped apart on the second swing.

You guys where right about splitting that stuff, what a pain in the @$$. Here is a picture of half of what im getting, got my work cut out for me.
Got about a cord of sycamore for free. Dont here too much on here about it. Just wondering how the stuff burns?
